TLDR - We ranked ourselves #1. It's our blog, what did you expect. - Buying in the US? The US makers on this list ship domestically, and we pay your import duties for you, so no surprise bills either way. - Weredog looks a lot like Bad Dragon for a reason (Bad Dragon's company owns most of it). More below.
Right then. We make fantasy toys, so we've ranked ourselves first. Obviously. After that it's our opinion as people who pour this stuff for a living, and a few of these studios make pours we're properly jealous of.
Why these makers? Because they're the best fantasy sex toy makers going. Every one of them makes original designs (their own, or commissioned from independent artists) and pours them in platinum silicone. Nobody here is buying containers of cheap toys from parts unknown and slapping a logo on them.
We ranked them on pours and design, then how easy they are to buy from in the US, then price and wait. Every fact comes from the maker's own site (checked October 2026).
Why people look for Bad Dragon alternatives
Bad Dragon (Phoenix, Arizona) is the big name, and reviewers regularly praise its quality. The usual gripes:
- The wait. Custom orders are reported to ship about 5 to 6 weeks after you order, longer when it's busy.
- The price. Insertables start at $75 for the smallest size of the cheapest models and go up to $225 for XL. Colour effects add $20 to $40 each.
Import fees: check before you buy
Order from another country and you can get a bill at the door (tax, duty and a courier handling fee) unless the seller has prepaid it. Each maker below has an import fees line for the US, UK and EU, so you know before you buy.
- US: since August 2025 every parcel from abroad owes import duty, whatever it's worth (US Customs).
- UK: parcels from outside the UK pay VAT, plus duty on some goods over £135 (GOV.UK).
- EU: parcels from outside the EU pay VAT from the first euro. Since the EU's product safety rules (GPSR) arrived in December 2024, some US makers (Uberrime, Strange Bedfellas) have stopped shipping to the EU altogether.
The quick list
- Uncover Creations (us, obviously)
- Twilight Meadow Creations: the best pours we've seen
- Wandering Bard Toys: near clear that shouldn't be possible
- Uberrime: best for design
- Strange Bedfellas: best drops
- Darque Path: gothic fantasy from Australia
- Paladin Pleasure Sculptors (PPS): home of the drip pour
- Pleasure Forge: great pours, drops only
- Twin Tail Creations: best for colour ambition
- Weredog: Bad Dragon's UK cousin
Plus Sinnovator (ours, so unranked).
Price guide: $ to $$$$$ for a typical Medium dildo ($ is under $60, $$$$$ is $150 and up).
The ranking
1. Uncover Creations (us, obviously)
Price: $$$ · Ships: tracked, by Royal Mail or DHL · Import fees: none in the US, UK or EU (we pay them)
Our case (biased, obviously):
- No surprise bills. We pay your import duties, so the price at checkout is the price. Tracked delivery by Royal Mail or DHL, and express gets to most of the US in days. (UK and EU orders are duties paid too.)
- Ready Mades ship in 1 to 2 days. Custom orders join our queue, so that wait varies. Can't wait? Browse Ready Mades.
- Three firmnesses, from Squishy Soft (Shore 00-20) to Medium.
- Dragons, knots, tentacles, werewolves and more, X-Small to X-Large, loads of them designed by customers in our Design a Dildo competitions.
- 4.8 stars from 4,000+ reviews on Judge.me.
Where we're not #1? Really big toys (that's Sinnovator, below). Free US shipping (we don't do it, Wandering Bard and PPS do over $150). And speed on custom orders, where Uberrime's 5 to 10 business days beats our queue. Also, the next two makers pour things we're openly jealous of.
Shopping for dragons? See our dragon dildos, or How to Choose a Dragon Dildo for every model's measurements.
2. Twilight Meadow Creations: the best pours we've seen
Price: $$$ · Ships from: Sweden · Import fees: US none on PostNord/USPS (you pay on UPS) · UK you pay · EU none
A small studio in rural Sweden doing hand painted, crystalline and marbled colourways, with designs drawn from Nordic mythology. Some of the best pours we've ever seen. Pour envy is rare round here. We've got it bad. Ready made pieces ship within 10 business days, and "Wildwood" custom slots (1 to 8 weeks) open now and then.
Our pick: Ambrose, a maw design. We've never made a maw (it's sitting on our backlog, judging us), and this one shows what's possible when the pour is this good. It catches my eye every time I'm stalking them on socials.
Best for: pour obsessives. Visit Twilight Meadow Creations
3. Wandering Bard Toys: near clear that shouldn't be possible
Price: $$$ · Ships from: USA · Import fees: US none · UK and EU you pay · free US shipping over $150
Owlbears, mimics, displacer beasts and the rest of your D&D bestiary, poured beautifully. Their near clear silicone is ridiculous (yes, more pour jealousy), and it only turns up in the monthly drop (last Thursday of the month). Custom orders come in every style going, from marble fades to drip, colour shift and glow, X-Small to XX-Large.
Our pick: the Grick. A unique tentacle is really hard to pull off (it's a tentacle, there's only so much you can do), and they've managed it. The slight curve and the suckers set on raised blocks are oddly satisfying. If you've ever designed a tentacle dildo, you'll know exactly what I mean.
Best for: near clear and special effect pours, D&D fans. Visit Wandering Bard Toys
4. Uberrime: best for design
Price: $ · Ships from: Florida · Import fees: US none · UK you pay · no EU shipping
Designs you'd recognise across a room, and great pours every time we've seen them (we've worked with an artist who has sculpted for them too). Custom toys come in Smooth-On platinum silicone, 1 to 3 colours of your choice, usually in 5 to 10 business days. Impatient? There's a ready to ship section and random pour grab bags.
Our pick: can't choose one. Their ripple pours are a thing of beauty (pour envy, again), and we love watching them on socials: those blue and green moulds always catch my eye, and their production studio is somehow always pristine. Ours is not.
Best for: striking designs at friendly prices. Visit Uberrime
5. Strange Bedfellas: best drops
Price: $$ · Ships from: USA · Import fees: US none · UK you pay · no EU shipping
Drops, not custom orders, and every batch is poured in loads of colour blends, so each piece is a one off. Superb pours and some of the friendliest prices here (small toys from about $20). Every so often "Friend Request" slots open for made to order.
Our pick: the Slavermaw. It isn't one of their own designs, we know. We just love it (spotting a theme with maws yet?). We had the chance to pick this design up ourselves, missed it, and we're still kicking ourselves.
Best for: collectors happy to catch a drop for something unique. Visit Strange Bedfellas
6. Darque Path: gothic fantasy from Australia
Price: $$ · Ships from: Australia · Import fees: US tariff added at checkout · UK and EU you pay
Occult, gothic and dark fantasy designs (Lilith, Hades, even a carnivorous Nepenthes plant), mostly Vac-U-Lock compatible. We love, love, love their socials, and the demoulding videos are some of our favourite things on the internet. Custom colour orders take 8 to 12 weeks, the longest wait here.
Our pick: the Hallows Cauldron. It's so good I don't think anyone else can get close. A few stores have had a go at a cauldron since. This is the OG.
Best for: gothic and occult designs, if you can wait. Visit Darque Path
7. Paladin Pleasure Sculptors (PPS): best for special effect pours
Price: $$$ · Ships from: USA · Import fees: US none · UK and EU check at checkout · free US shipping over $150
The home of the drip pour, plus UV reactive, glow in the dark and near clear silicone. Drops land every other Saturday at 2pm Central and go fast, so be logged in early.
Our pick: Celeste. Boobs, but in a stress ball way, not a creepy torso way. Everything they make is genuine art, and I have pour envy all day long.
Best for: glow, UV and drip fans who don't mind the race. Visit Paladin Pleasure Sculptors
8. Pleasure Forge: great pours, drops only
Price: $$ · Ships from: Florida · Import fees: US none · UK and EU you pay (not every EU country)
An RPG creature lineup (kobolds, rocs, aboleths, mimics) sold as numbered one off colourways, with great pours. No custom orders: everything goes out in drops, usually Thursday evenings Eastern, announced on their socials.
Our pick: their socials, if we're allowed that. They shoot their toys taking a bath, which is practical and great content. I pitched it to Hannah. We don't have a big enough sink.
Best for: drop chasers who want a numbered one off. Visit Pleasure Forge
9. Twin Tail Creations: best for colour ambition
Price: $$$$ · Ships from: USA · Import fees: US none · UK and EU you pay
A big custom range from Mini to XL, with colour options tiered from free all the way up to "Intricate". Custom orders take 1 to 6 weeks, and there's an in stock range if you'd rather not wait.
Our pick: Ember the Fire Dragon. We make dragons for a living, so this is a professional opinion.
Best for: wild custom colourways. Visit Twin Tail Creations
10. Weredog: Bad Dragon's UK cousin
Price: $$$$ · Ships from: UK · Import fees: US you pay on delivery · UK none · EU you pay
Weredog is a Bristol studio whose canine, equine and creature designs look a lot like Bad Dragon's. We don't think that's a coincidence: UK Companies House filings list Bad Dragon Enterprises Inc as Weredog's majority shareholder and parent company (company 11576486).
So it's last only because it isn't really an alternative. More like Bad Dragon with a UK address. US orders arrive by UPS about 2 days after dispatch, but you pay the import duty plus UPS's fee at the door. 4.8 stars from 1,100+ reviews on Trustpilot.
Our pick: no favourite toy, but their product photography is lovely. And if giant paws are your thing, there's Gideon's Paws. No judgement.
Best for: the Bad Dragon look from a UK studio (UK buyers dodge customs entirely). Visit Weredog
Unranked: Sinnovator (we own this one too)
Price: $$$$ · Ships: tracked, by Royal Mail or DHL · Import fees: none in the US, UK or EU (we pay them)
Full disclosure: Sinnovator is our sister brand. It went into administration in early 2025 and we bought it in April 2025. So if you've seen Reddit threads saying Sinnovator went bust, this is what happened next. Ranking our own sister brand would be marking our own homework, so we haven't.
Its own designs include the Warrior dragon (winner of Sinnovator's design competition), the Draic and the Tyrant double knot dragon, plus a big horse and fantasy line. Same pouring team as us, same wait, same duties paid delivery. If you want big, Sinnovator is the one. Otherwise we own both, so pick whichever design you fancy.
What about Nothosaur?
Nothosaur comes up a lot as a Bad Dragon alternative, mainly for very large sizes and special effect colours. It says its toys are made in a workshop in China and shipped from warehouses in the US, Germany and Japan.
In 2023 a widely shared community thread raised concerns about Nothosaur's business practices (read it here). Read it and make up your own mind. We haven't ranked them.
Cheaper ways to get Bad Dragon itself
If it has to be Bad Dragon, check its in stock inventory. That includes "flops" (toys with cosmetic imperfections, sold cheaper), which skip the custom wait. Stock is random and goes quickly.
What to check before you buy from anyone
- Material: platinum silicone. Avoid mystery "silicone blend", jelly or TPE toys from marketplaces.
- Real measurements: insertable length and the circumference at the widest point. "Medium" means nothing on its own.
- Firmness numbers: "soft" at one maker is "medium" at another. Compare Shore values (00-20, 00-30 and so on).
- The total: price, plus shipping, plus any import tax and duty. Ordering from another country? Check the seller prepays them, or you'll get a bill at the door.
- Who designed it: buying from the studio that made the design supports the people actually creating this stuff.
- A flared base: non negotiable for anal play.
Bad Dragon alternatives: FAQs
What is the best Bad Dragon alternative? We'd say us, but we would. In the US, Wandering Bard, Uberrime, Strange Bedfellas, PPS, Pleasure Forge and Twin Tail all ship domestically, and we ship duties paid, so none of us will land you with an import bill. Twilight Meadow's best pours are worth the wait too.
What sites are similar to Bad Dragon? Every maker on this list sells platinum silicone fantasy toys in several sizes and firmnesses. The closest in style is Weredog, which Bad Dragon's company majority owns. For original designs, try Wandering Bard Toys, Uberrime, Twilight Meadow Creations or us.
Are there dildos like Bad Dragon that are cheaper? Yes. Strange Bedfellas (from about $20 for small toys), Uncover Creations (from $69), Uberrime (from about $49) and Pleasure Forge (from $50) all start below Bad Dragon's $75. All platinum silicone.
Is Weredog owned by Bad Dragon? UK Companies House filings list Bad Dragon Enterprises Inc as holding most of Weredog's shares, and name it as Weredog's parent company.
Will I pay import fees on a sex toy from another country? Probably, unless the seller prepays them. In the US, we, Sinnovator and Twilight Meadow (PostNord/USPS) pay them for you. In the UK, we, Sinnovator and Weredog ship with no extra charges. In the EU, we, Sinnovator and Twilight Meadow do.
Is Sinnovator still in business? Yes. It went into administration in early 2025, we bought it in April 2025, and it still trades at sinnovator.com.
Thank you and goodbye forever*!

*Not forever. We'll be back when someone in the comments tells us we forgot their favourite maker.
P.S. If this ranking gets us uninvited from the fantasy toy Christmas party, worth it.
