What is a butt plug? (The short version)

A butt plug is a short anal toy made to stay in place. It has a tapered tip, a wider body, a narrow neck and a flared base. Once it's in, the neck settles and you get a full, steady feeling without having to hold anything. Wear it on its own or alongside other play.

Ours are platinum cure silicone with a flared base, so they're body safe and made for anal play.

Butt plug firmness (pick your squish)

Super Soft: our best seller, and the one we'd pick for a first plug. Gives a little as it goes in.
Squishy Soft: our softest, and the most forgiving (basically a marshmallow with ambition).
Medium: holds its shape, so you feel the full width.

Are butt plugs safe? (Ours are. Here's the boring bit.)

The flared base is the big one. The body can draw a toy inwards, and a base wider than the plug is what stops it going anywhere it shouldn't. Every plug we make has one, so never swap ours for a toy that doesn't. Every plug is platinum cure silicone too, which is non porous, phthalate free and easy to sterilise. Lube is non negotiable, and water, silicone and oil based lube all work with our silicone. The care guide covers cleaning and storage.

How do I use a butt plug?

Warm up first (a finger or a smaller toy helps), then use lots of lube on you and the plug. Go slowly, breathe out as it goes in and let the narrow neck settle behind you. The flared base is what keeps it from going too far, so never use a plug without one. If anything hurts, stop. There's no rush.

Which butt plug is best for beginners?

The smallest size of the softest firmness. The Oval starts at X-Small and the Aster at Extra Small, so either is a great beginner butt plug. Go Squishy Soft (our softest) or Super Soft (our best seller), and size up later if you want to. Everyone starts somewhere.

How long can I wear a butt plug?

Start short and see how it feels. Build up a little at a time, reapply lube if it starts to drag, and take it out if anything aches, goes numb or just stops feeling good. Your body is the boss here, not the clock.

Do you make big butt plugs?

Yes. The Oval and the Bean both go up to X-Large, and The Plug and the Aster go up to Large. If you're after a large butt plug, check the size guide and size up one step at a time. Huge is a destination, not a starting point.

How do I clean a butt plug?

Wash it before and after every use with warm water and a mild, unscented soap, rinse well and let it dry. Our platinum silicone is non porous, so it's easy to sterilise too. The care guide covers cleaning and storage.

Can I choose the colour and firmness?

Yes. Every plug here is made to order, so you pick the colours and the firmness (Squishy Soft, Super Soft or Medium) when you order. Fair warning: the colour guide is a rabbit hole.

How long does a made to order plug take?

It's hand poured once you order, so it joins the production queue (Matt, our production lead, is on it). The current estimate is on our shipping page. In a hurry? Ready Mades ship in 1 to 2 days. Either way it arrives in plain packaging with a boring name on your bank statement.
